ISIC Card

The card has been issued by the ISIC Association, a global organisation under the auspices of UNESCO, for more than 70 years.

You can get your ISIC card through the school or online on our website.

Who is entitled to an ISIC card?

ISIC can be obtained by anyone who has legal student status, i.e.:

  • Full-time students of czech universities, colleges and secondary schools.
  • Participants in one-year foreign language courses with full-time teaching.

Who can’t get an ISIC card?

  • Students of combined and distance forms of study.
  • Students of schools abroad.
  • Student soldiers/professional police officers not studying civilian programmes.
  • Students of schools not registered in the register of schools and educational establishments (only in Czech language), with the exception of schools listed in the list of foreign schools (only in Czech language) with a valid permit to fulfill compulsory school attendance in the Czech Republic.

Where do you get your ISIC card?

ISIC is often issued by schools as a school card with an ISIC licence. If your school doesn’t issue one, get a single-issue ISIC card, which you can easily order online.

What documents do you need to obtain an ISIC?

To order a single-issue ISIC card you will need:

  • A photograph suitable for the card (colour portrait, minimum 450 x 540 pixels)
  • Proof of the student’s identity (ID card, driving licence, passport) and also proof of the legal guardian`s identity if the student is under 15 years of age
  • Electronic confirmation of studies (pdf format with electronic qualified signature) or Application for card issuance (the confirmation on the application must not be more than 2 months old on the date of sending the order)

How much does an ISIC cost?

The price of the ISIC school card may vary, please contact your school’s contact person for exact details.

The price of a single-issue ISIC card (available online) is CZK 400 for a digital card and CZK 100 for an additional plastic card.

What is the validity of the ISIC card?

The ISIC card is always valid from the beginning of September of one year until the end of December of the following year.

You can renew your ISIC school card every year. Simply process the renewal at school and you’ll see the new validity immediately on your digital card in the Alive App. Some schools may also issue revalidation stamps in the form of a sticker for the plastic version of the card. The cost and terms of revalidation vary from school to school, so you’ll need to check directly there.

You can’t renew your single-issue ISIC card – you’ll need to get a new one online when it’s about to expire.
