Bolek Polívka Theatre instituted its first season on 17th September 1993 with a play by Bolek Polívka himself: Trosečník. In the 25 years of its existence the theatre carried out many projects not only by the principal Bolek Polívka, but by young Czech authors too. Within the current repertoire it is possible to choose from authorial plays by the principal Bolek Polívka (DNA, Pro dámu na balkoně, Šašek a syn) but also from plays created in cooperation with other theatres (Mínus dva, The Naked Truth, Mindgame) or other plays by various authors (Srnky, Šest tanečních hodin v šesti týdnech, Letem sokolím). Apart from home repertoire, the audience can also see a large variety of plays of visiting Czech or foreign theatre companies and see famous actors and actresses on the stage.
