Whether in summer or winter - almost anything is possible for active holidaymakers and families up here at an altitude of 1,600 metres with the best views of Innsbruck and the Karwendel mountains. In the warm season, the reservoir offers numerous resting places overlooking the beautiful Inn valley, and children can play in the adventure playground at the "magic water" with slides, in the ponds and on water bikes, or train their sense of touch on the barefoot trails in the exercise park. Nature lovers will get their heart rate up on the various family-friendly hiking trails, while sporty fans of two-wheeled cycling will enjoy the numerous single tracks in the Innsbruck Bike Park. If you run out of energy after all these activities, you can simply take a ride - in the "Mountain Cart", a kind of downhill tricycle for which a five-kilometre track has been specially laid out.
And in winter? Muttereralm doesn't have to hide there either. In addition to a small network of slopes and a spacious children's area, there is a 4.7-kilometre-long sports toboggan run, a comfortable family toboggan run and beautiful trails for ski tourers.
