Koněpruské caves are situated in Central Bohemia, 7km south of Beroun in a protected area near the Czech Karst Křivoklát and Karlstejn. They were discovered in 1950 and opened to the public in 1959. They feature Devonian limestones 410 million years old. They are developed on three levels with denivelation of more than 70 m. They total a length of over 2km and a 620m long route is made available with a tour that lasts about 1 hour. The upper floor was a 15th century secret coinery. The caves are unique in opálonosnou decor and paleontology findings, documenting the history of nature for the last 1.5 million years.
